CANDLE Research In Action

CANDLE is a community resource with the potential to answer research questions specific to Memphis and Shelby County families. As such, it is important to ensure that results of research studies completed with CANDLE data are shared with our local community!

This page gives an overview and links to CANDLE efforts in this area; we call it “Research in Action” because we hope that community leaders, health care workers, and other community members can use our research to actively improve the health and well-being of children and families.

Research Recap

This flyer is the first of a planned series that explains CANDLE study results to participants and community members. Please contact Lauren Sims Taylor for more information.

Informational Publications

In addition to our Research Recap series, CANDLE has begun a series of informational brochures to share with healthcare providers and community members! This series explores health topics and explains related CANDLE study results. For more information, contact Lauren Sims Taylor, the CANDLE community engagement coordinator.

Community Advisory Board

As part of the plan for our newest data collection visit, funded by the National Institutes on Drug Abuse, we have put together a community advisory board made up of individuals who are eager to help shape future data collection efforts and how we return results to our community. We are so excited to have these community leaders on board!
